Dawson and Bette Grove

The Owners, Dawson and Bette Grove, came to Costa Rica from Maryland in 2003 looking for a vacation spot they could enjoy with their family of four grown children, their spouses and grandchildren and found a home.

Dawson and Bette love to travel – Dawson has visited all seven continents and Bette has visited six – but Costa Rica has claimed their hearts. Be sure to say hello to them when you visit their Playa Hermosa Bed and Breakfast. They love to hear from their guests and help you have the best time in Costa Rica.

Dawson died unexpectedly February 9, 2018.

Robert Pizarro

Robert Pizarro is a native Costa Rican (Tico) with many years of experience in the hospitality industry. He owns and manages the on-site restaurant and bar, Roberto’s at La Gaviota Tropical, and manages the La Gaviota Tropical Boutique Hotel as well.

Robert and his wife Sila have two children and live in the nearby town of Sardinal. Owning his own restaurant has always been Robert’s dream and Bette has dreamed of owning her own guest house since she was a child and regularly visited her grandmother’s guest house in Atlantic City, NJ.

One day at lunch, Robert and Bette shared their dreams and decided to join together to make both their dreams come true. Now they are in beautiful Playa Hermosa living their dreams, and they invite you to come and share them! Pura Vida!
